HWI’s Board of Directors Elects New Members and Officers


At the May meeting of the Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute’s Board of Directors, the following slate of officers was elected: Board Chair, Judith Feldman; Vice Chair, Peter McCauley; Chief Executive Officer, Edward Snell, PhD; Chairman of the Finance Committee, Charles Lannon; and Secretary, John Horn, Esq

feldmanJudith Feldman,the new Board Chair, is an information technology (IT) executive with proven ability to use IT to solve business problems while mitigating costs and risks. She is President and Founder of BIA Consulting Services, a woman-owned business that provides executive level technology strategic planning, interim Chief Information Officer (CIO) support, technology road mapping, mentoring, and vendor selection services. BIA works with clients in the healthcare, financial services, and aerospace industries.

Ms. Feldman formerly served as CIO at Independent Health where she directed a 400-person organization with an annual budget over $50M and assets of $100M. Prior to that, she held executive positions at Fidelis Care of New York and at RSA Solutions (FISERV).

She has a BS in Computer Science from SUNY Albany and an MS in Systems and Information Management from the University of Southern California.

In addition, the following three new members were elected to the Board of Directors:



Sash Eranki is the Vice-President and Corporate Officer of Moog, Inc. Eranki has been with Moog since 1979. He has overseen the business and product development of flight controls over his long career. He is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, received his MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University at Buffalo, and graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.





Philip D. Nobel is the Vice President of Harry R. Defler Corporation and Managing Member of Menallen Resources LLC.  A graduate of Cornell University where he played Division I Varsity Hockey, Nobel has had a career in Entertainment Marketing.  He is presently on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Buffalo.




Franca Trincia, CPA
, is the CFO of the Olmsted Center for Sight, one of HWI’s partners in the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. She is Past President of the New York State Society of CPAs, and serves on the Boards of the P2 Collaborative of WNY and Just Buffalo Literary Center. Ms. Trincia received her BS from the University at Buffalo.
